Amateur course is offered twice a year. The first course is usually conducted in April or May and the second one is later in the year in August or September. So keep coming back to see the actual time of the course.

In addition, due to the increase in demand of the course, the Telecommunications Authority of Kiribati wishes to inform the general public that Amateur course is now offered through distance learning. This is the first time that the Authority offer Amateur course through this mode. For those who are interested in taking this course you need to contact TAK office on phone number25431 or by fax 25432.

The fee is AU$70. Upon receipt of your payment, your materials will be distributed to you or send by mail. It is therefore recommended that you give your full name and full address so that TAK sends the course materials to the right postal address. For those who are living on South Tarawa, you are all encouraged to come to the office behind the Ministry of Communications Transport and Tourism Development to collect your course materials.

The time for your examination will depend on your study. Whenever you wish to sit an exam, just call our office at least one week in advance so that we can arrange the date, time, venue of exam and find an invigilator to supervise your exam, especially when you are on the outer islands.
